SLOT VIEW SIMULATION OF WIND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
[attachment=17648]
ABSTRACT
As a result of increasing environmental concern, more and more electricity is generated from renewable sources. One way of generating electricity from renewable sources is to use wind turbines. A tendency to erect more and more wind turbines can be observed. As a result of this, in the near future wind turbines may start to influence the behaviour of electrical power systems. Therefore, adequate models to study the impact of wind turbines on electrical power system behaviour are needed. Today, wind turbines have to compete with many other energy sources.
Electrical Dynamics:
Basic Principles of emf generation are:
1. Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction
2. Ampere-Biot-Savart’s Law of Electromagnetic Induced Forces
3. Lenz’s Law of Action and Reaction
According to the above mentioned laws, the emf induced is give by the following equations:
E=Blv
Where,
B flux created in the machine
L length of the conductor
V linear velocity
where,
B= φ/A
A= (2Πrl)/p
The linear velocity is the wind speed in terms of m/s.
Conclusion:
In the near future wind turbines may start to influence the behaviour of electrical power systems. Thus, this method proves to be more useful for clear analysis and testing of wind power generating units.
