SixthSense is a portable computer system based on the gesture developed by Steve Mann's MIT Media Lab in 1994 and 1997 (worn-out gesture interface), and 1998 (neckworn version), and developed by Pranav Mistry (also at MIT Media Lab) In 2009, both developed both hardware and software for both hooded versions and neckband applications. It consists of a worn pendant or neck that contains both a data projector and the camera. Headworn versions were built at the MIT Media Lab in 1997 (by Mann) combining cameras and lighting systems for interactive photo art, and also included gesture recognition (for example, finger tracking using colored tape on fingers ). SixthSense is a name for additional information provided by a laptop, such as the device called EyeTap (Mann), Telepointer (Mann), and "WuW" (using your world) by Pranav Mistry.
