What Is Signal Processing??
¤ Signal processing is the action of changing one or more features (parameters) of a signal according to a predetermined requirement.
¤ Signal processing tasks are Amplification, Attenuation, Filtering, Modulation.
¤ Signals that are to be processed is converted into numerical form before any processing.
¤ Digital Signal Processing system is governed by a theorem known as sampling theorem.
Sampling theorem
¤ Sampling theorem is the process of converting a signal into a numeric sequence which can be a function of discrete time or space.
¤ In this process, A continuous time signal is converted into discrete signal,
Shannon has describe sampling as,
¤ An analog signal can be exactly reconstructed from its samples if the sampling rate is at least twice the highest frequency component present in the signal.
