Unity in diversity
India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world and boasts of many ethnic groups that follow different cultures and religions. Being a diverse civilization, India is a land of myriad language with over 1650 spoken languages and dialects. Despite the different cultures, religions and languages, the people of India coexist with love and brotherhood. The immense unity in diversity makes India an example of cultural fraternity. Every region of the country from Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari portrays different customs and traditions. Since ancient times, the people of India have been living together and respecting all religions and cultures. Unity in diversity is distinctive feature of this beautiful nation and unites people in the bond of humanity and peace. The unforgettable struggle of freedom is an excellent example of India's unity in diversity, when the entire nation joined the parity differences of plaster and religions. The leaders of India's freedom movement Mahatma Gandhi, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Gopal Krishna Gokhle, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel had used the motto Unity in Diversity to make the struggle for freedom Was successful. The history of India's unity in diversity is remarkable and conveys a strong message that the nation is above any particular religion or culture. At present, approximately 1.22 million people live together with love and harmony. The cultural diversity of India goes back to history when Mughals and other outsiders ruled India and brought their own tradition and culture. The love tied people of India never opposed any civilization and embraced all with open heart. Unity in India's diversity justifies the fact that people who have different opinions about life, religion, social, economic and political systems can make a civilized nation with their cultured perception and behavior. The Indians have been honoring saints, sages, religious preacher and philosopher since antiquity. For example, the Sanctuary of Sufi San Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer receives the same respect as the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu.
There are selfish, uneducated people who have previously tried and still try to destroy the cultural unity of India. But the ancient and immaculate bond of brotherhood proved that all his attempts were useless. India's socio-economic development depends on its cultural unity and the capacity to contain a surprising diversity within itself. The iconic freedom leader Mahatma Gandhi had played an immense role in bringing together people of different religions and cultures into one bond of love and unity. Gandhi Ji came from a Hindu religious family but had the same respect for other religions and always admired the principles of each religion. It was Gandhi Ji who dreamed of secular India and put all his efforts to fulfill his dream. The unity of the people in the freedom movement was the main weapon and forced the British Empire to revive India from its slavery.
Belief in spirituality and cultural power has played an important role in uniting the people of India together in a bond of unity. Hinduism, which forms the majority of the population of India, has absorbed foreign cultures or influenced them to a great extent. Freedom of expression also has a stronger component of India's unity in diversity. All these factors are deeply associated with the cultural diversity and unity of India.
