ABSTRACT
The sole aim of this project is to provide secure transmission of any message in a network. The objective is to use RSA algorithm, which will be implemented in achieving this safe transmission. This will be used for data encryption. SSL will be used for session key exchange process, which is mainly for providing reliable end to end secure service. Also, the Session Key Protocol can be very useful in the secured transmission, as it randomly generates a single key every time a sender wishes to send information to another person (the receiver). So, using RSA algorithm, SSL and Session Key Protocol, the aim is to send the message successfully.
The project will require a ‘mini’ network consisting of 2 systems, i.e. PCs. This can be represented as a LAN. Of course, there will be a need of a server, which will allow for the communication between the computers in the network. Now, the programming language that will be used for this is Java. The software requirement for this is Java 2 Software Edition (J2SE) Development Kit 5.0. Within this, Java applets will be utilized, as most of the coding will be done related to networks, so .net package will be imported. This is required since the project deals with secure message transmission.
The design has a front-end application that will be designed using java frames. The application will send a message to the concerned destination using Secured Session Protocol.
