Description

The inventory control system of ration-shop is a major tool for increasing the food security for the poor as well as ensuring the availability of grain at a lower cost to the public. Central schemes such as "Annapurna" (for old age pensioners) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (IA) (poor for the poor) are being implemented in the state from May 2000 and February 2001 respectively.
