FPGA Implementation of PWM ControlTechnique for Three Phase Induction Motor Drive
Control of the speed, torque, acceleration, and the direction of rotation of the motor is the primary function of any of the adjustable speed motor drives. Any one of the infinite number of speeds available within the operating range of the motor can be picked up. The speed of Most multipurpose production machines must change to adopt to the machine process, or to adopt to the objectives of product quality, production speed or safety. If the FPGA holds the control circuit, then it has numerous advantages over the conventional methods.
In this article, the three phase electric drive systems control implemented using VHDL is described. The heart of the inverter system is the three-phase Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)generation. the switching sequence of the power devices is controlled in accordance with the pre-stored instructions.all the functions can be implemented in a single chip by the use of the FPGA technology. a design file is compiled into a configuration fie and then it is optimised in terms of the logic gates and interconnections for the target FPGA device.
