Network Simulator Version 2, also known as NS-2. NS-2 is an event-driven packet-level network simulator developed as part of the VINT (Virtual Internet Testbed) project. The simulation behavior of NS-2 is highly reliable within the research community. It is a simulator tool based on discrete events that is reliable and realistic and proves to be more feasible. It is designed primarily based on the OSI model to support wired networks. CMU wireless extension of NS2 broadly supports the wireless network.
