*No agreement could be reached on the demands of complete independence and on the communal question.
*Due to the failure of second round table conference Gandhiji resumed Civil Disobedience movement in 1932 congress did not take part in third round table conference.
*The Three round table conferences were held at London
*The second Round Table Conference held between 7th September and 2nd December 1931.
*The third and the last Round Table Conference was held between 17th November and 24th December 1932.
*Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Tej Bahadur Sapru participated all the three Round Table Conferences:
*The system of separate electorate was replaced by reservation of seats for Harijans with the Poona pact.
*In 1933, British government issued a White Paper, which became the basis of the enactment of the Government of India Act, 1935. In April 1934, Gandhiji decided to withdraw the Civil Disobedience Movement.
Gandhi - lrwin Pact (1931)
*On March 5, 193 l Gandhi and Lord ' Irwin signed a agreement before the second Round Table, conference in London.
*As per this agreement Gandhiji discontinued the Civil Disobedience movement and agreed to attend the second round table conference.
Communal Award - 1932
*The communal award was announced by the British Prime Minister, Ramsay Me Donald on 16th August 1932.
*This was yet another expression of British policy of divide and rule.
*The communal award was basically a proposal on minority representation.
*A certain number of seats were alloted to Muslims, Europeans and Sikhs and members of these communities were to vote in separate constituencies.
