Madan Mohan Malaviya
*Madan Mohan Malaviya was born on December 25, 1861 at Prayaga (Allahabad)
*Malaviya is known as prince of Beggars.
*The slogan Satyameva Jayate was popularised by him.
*He is popularly known as Mahamana. Rabindranath Tagore gave him the title Mahamana.
*He established Hindu Samaj in 1880.
*He started composing poetry at the age of fifteen with the pen name Makarand.
*He was the founder of English newspaper ‘The Leader (1909) and Hindi newspaper Maryada (1910).
*He gave the presidential address at the first conference of Hindi Sahitya Samelan in 1910. He founded Hindu Mahasabha in 1914.
*He founded Banaras Hindu University at Varanasi in 1916.
*Gandhiji called Malaviya as Devata Purush.
*In 1941 he founded Goraksha Mandal.

*He passed away on November 12, 1946.
*The Government of India announced Bharat Ratna award (posthumously) for him on December 25, 2014. and he was the 44th recipient of Bharat Ratna.


Jayaprakash Narayan 
*Jayaprakash Narayan was born in Bihar on 11th October 1902.
*He is popularly called as JP.
*He is also known by the name Lok Nayak which means ‘Leader of the people’.
*JP Narayan is remembered for spearheading the opposition to Indira Gandhi during the 1970’s era
*In 1934 Jaya Prakash and others formed the congress Socialist party under the presidentship of Acharya Narendra Deva & Secretaryship of Jaya Prakash himself.
*He participated in various freedom struggle movements like Dandi March, Civil Disobedience Movement, Quit India movement etc.
*JP Narayan is known as the Hero of Quit India Movement.
*He raised the slogan ‘Total Revolution’
*Sarvodaya plan was given by JP.
*He won Bharath Ratna posthumously in 1999.
*He won Ramon Magsaysay award in 1965 for his book ‘A Plea for Reconstruction of Indian Polity’.
*He died on October 8, 1979 in Bihar.
*The union government has recently decided to construct a national memorial for J.P.Narayan in Bihar.
*Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was launched by Prime-Minister, Narendra Modi on the 112nd birth anniversary of JP Narayan on 11th October, 2014.
