Public Accounts Committee
*There are 22 members in the PAC (15 from Lok Sabha and 7 from Rajya Sabha).
*The Chairman of the PAC is appointed by the Speaker and he is invariably from Lok Sabha and from the opposition party.
*The term of office of a member of the PAC is one year.
*Present chairman of Public Accounts Committee

Estimates Committee
*Estimates Committee is the largest parliamentary committee
*The first Estimates Committee in the post independence era was constituted in 1950 on the recommendation of John Mathai, the then finance Minister.
*Estimates Committee consists of 30 members. Its members are only from Lok Sabha.
*The Chairman of Estimates Committee is appointed by the Speaker from amongst its members.
*The chairman is invariably from the ruling party.
*The term of office of the members is one year.
*A minister is not eligible to be elected to the committee.
*Since 1974 the estimates committee scrutinizes the budget estimates for the year and suggests economy in expenditure.
Committee on Public Undertaking
*The Committee on Public Undertaking was created in 1964 on the recommendation of Krislina Menon Committee.
*The committee on Public Undertaking has 22 members (15 from Lok Sabha and 7 from Rajya Sabha).
*It examines the affairs of the public undertakings.
*The Chairman of the committee on Public Undertaking is appointed by the Speaker from amongst the members of the Lok Sabha.
*A Minister is not eligible to be elected as a member of the committee.
