The LED TV is a more advanced version of the LCD TV. While both types of TV are based on LCD technology and have flat screen designs, the online review feature,
"LED TVs are thinner, brighter and more detailed than your traditional LCD TV." LED TVs work by illuminating LED backlit LCD panels. However, not all LED TVs use the same type of LED backlight.
An LED screen is actually an LCD display, but instead of having a normal cold fluorocent (CCFL) light, it uses light emitting diodes (LED) so an LED is more energy efficient and also allows for display of Thinner television.
Although LED TVs are still LCD TVs because the screens themselves are made up of liquid crystals.
LEDs glow behind the screen, illuminating the pixels to create an image.
Many LED TVs use white LED edge lighting to illuminate the screen. The only advantage in this type of TV is the thinness. Other LED TVs use red, blue and green (RGB) backlit LEDs that provide improved colour.

LEDs or CFL lamps (in case of LCD) are passed to a medium and are dispersed because polarization occurs and is a key concept in the production of an image. Two filters are used that are placed in front of the LED backlight perpendicular to each other.
After the light is passed through the filters it lits up to pixels. A pixel consists of three red, green and blue (RGB) colors and by using different combinations of the same up to 16.7 million different colors can be obtained by adjusting the RGB intensity.
