GUIDELINES FOR EVALUATION OF CAPSTONE PROJECT & SIMILAR
COURSES

Applicability: The following guidelines shall be applicable to capstone projects/
dissertations / thesis / research project/ term project/ community and technical project
or any other course requiring the student to do an independent study under the
guidance of a Research Supervisor for a long duration (i.e. one or more terms). The
evaluation process detailed here shall be applicable for holding the evaluation of a
single student also.
Recommendations by the Panel:
3.1 In all such courses under the purview of this policy which have two parts (e.g
Capstone Project – I and Capstone Project – II) the students shall be handed over a
copy of recommendations for improving the quality of work. Even if no improvement
is required, positive remarks must be given in this form. The evaluation panels shall
hand over the recommendation form to the student (s) and retain its carbon copy
3.2 The students are required to attach the recommendation form in the report prepared
for subsequent evaluation.
4. Report Submission : The students must submit the final project report in printed and
electronic form as per the following guidelines:
4.1 Report Format: The report must be prepared and submitted in the format prescribed
by the department. It must include a certificate by the Research Supervisor and a
declaration by the student in the prescribed format titled ‘Formats for Certificate
and Declaration’.
4.2 Printed Report :
4.2.1 Wherever a report is to be evaluated by one or more external evaluators, 3 hard bound
copies of the reports shall be submitted by the student in the administration office of
the concerned school as per prescribed timelines.
4.2.2 Wherever a report is to be evaluated by internal evaluators , 2 hard bound copies of
the reports shall be submitted by the student in the administration office of the
concerned school as per prescribed timelines.
