I, Vinay, doing my 6th sem engineering, am interested in doing a FINAL YEAR PROJECT IN ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION. I basically want to apply electronics in agriculture. So I thought of doing a project on ground information collection device using microcontroller. I have a vague idea of transmitting a signal of particular frequency and depending on different dielectric constants of different minerals in the soil,received signals will be of different frequencies. The information should be sent to a base station where all the information is processed and an sms is sent to the device about the soil content, ground water level, temperature, pressure etc.
I would like to get inputs from you guys as to know if this project is feasible, if so how to proceed, what components to be used, how to program the device and so on. I would be very happy if you can suggest me various other projects in the same area of interest.
