The abundance of microarray gene expression data has led to the development of applicable machine learning algorithms to address disease diagnosis, disease prognosis and treatment selection problems. However, these algorithms often produce classifiers with weaknesses in terms of accuracy, robustness, and interpretability. This paper presents the diffuse vector support machine which is a learning algorithm based on the combination of fuzzy classifiers and core machines for the classification of microarrays.
The field of Automatic Learning. The work considered contributed to the task of extraction of rules of Support Vector Machines (SVM). Therefore, it creates the Support Vector Fuzzy Inference (SVFI) rules based on support vectors of an SVM given by creating a rule per support vector. A rule consists of n clauses, where n is the number of dimensions. Each clause in a rule establishes a relation between the specific value of the vector dimension and an input x. The class of the support vector is appended after listing the clauses by the word "THEN" followed by the class and a coefficient expressing the importance of that rule.
