Cloud applications that offer data management services are emerging. Such clouds support the caching of data in order to provide quality query services. Users can query the cloud data, paying the price for the infrastructure they use. Cloud management requires an economy that manages the multi-user service in an efficient, but also cost-effective, way to get cloud benefits. Naturally, maximising the benefit of the cloud, given some guarantees for user satisfaction, presupposes an adequate price demand model that allows an optimal price of the consultation services. The model must be plausible in that it reflects the correlation of the cache structures involved in the queries. The optimal price is achieved based on a dynamic pricing scheme that adapts to the changes of time. This article proposes a new pricing model designed for a cloud cache and a dynamic pricing scheme for queries executed in the cloud cache. The pricing solution employs a new method that estimates the correlations of cache services in an efficient manner over time.
The management of the cloud requires an economy and, therefore, the incorporation of economic concepts in the provision of services in the cloud. The goal of the cloud economy is to optimize:
1) User Satisfaction
2) benefits of the cloud
3) Fabric cloud security.
While cloud service success depends on optimizing both goals, companies typically prioritize the benefits. To maximize the benefit of the cloud, we need a price scheme and apply the technique of optimization of intelligence that guarantees the satisfaction of the user while adapting to the changes in demand. Cloud resources can be anything from infrastructure (CPU, memory, bandwidth, network) to platforms and applications deployed to the infrastructure. The management of the cloud requires an economy and, therefore, the incorporation of economic concepts in the provision of services in the cloud. The goal of the cloud economy is to optimize:
(I) user satisfaction and
(Ii) benefits of the cloud. While cloud service success depends on optimizing both goals, companies typically prioritize the benefits.
To maximize the benefit of the cloud we need a pricing scheme that guarantees user satisfaction while adapting to changes in demand. Recently, cloud computing has found its way into the provision of web services. Information as well as software is stored permanently on Internet servers and is probably stored temporarily on the user side. Current cloud computing businesses such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure have begun offering data management services - the cloud allows users to transparently manage data from back-end databases. Applications that collect and query mass data, such as those supported by CERN, need a cache service, which can be provided by the cloud.
Users ask cloud queries through a coordinator module, and are charged on the fly to be served. The cloud stores data in cache and builds data structures to accelerate the execution of the query. The query service is performed by executing them in the cloud cache (if the required data is already cached) or in a background database. Each cache structure (data or data structures) has an operating cost (ie a building and maintenance). A price on the cost of operation for each structure can ensure the benefit to the cloud. In this work we propose a novel scheme that obtains an optimal price for the services of a cloud cache.
