BEL is not only a successful business story but also an organization that cares about people and society. Even before the term 'Corporate Social Responsibility' gained weight, BEL has undertaken countless CSR activities and continues to do so with a lot of passion and commitment. BEL has established educational institutions, including a special school for the mentally handicapped. It has also created hospitals, fine arts clubs and sports facilities. These and other welfare initiatives ensure a good quality of life for employees and their dependents. Some of these facilities also serve the local community. At present, BEL focuses on promoting education, sanitation, health care, rural development, employment and the improvement of professional skills, while ensuring the sustainability of the environment.
'Clean and green' is valid for all BEL units. The concern for the environment is visible in the profuse vegetation in all the Units. Forestation, treatment of effluents, recycling of waste water, generation and use of biogas, collection of rainwater, construction of green buildings, installation and use of wind power plants and solar energy, to be cited Some are some of the activities in this direction.
