fpga based smart wireless control system for industial automation

There is a rapid introduction of new digital technologies. These technologies offer exciting new opportunities that can increase the connectivity of devices within the home for the purpose of home automation. Here we present the design and implementation of the home automation system. The design is described using VHDL (VHSIC Hardware Description Language) and implemented using hardware using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The system is based on SMS technology (short messaging service). This system uses the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network to establish communication between the mobile and the controller.

Technological advances have made the implementation of integrated systems within household appliances. This increased capabilities and characteristics. There is a demand for smart home automation through mobile phones. The Bluetooth modules are cost effective and flexible making it one of the best options for smart home automation. This article presents a novel technology in which the user controls the devices through mobile phones. The implementation is done using FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) as a controller to which the devices are directly connected. The control of the devices is communicated to the FPGA from the mobile phone using the speech recognition technique.
