The pairing of fingerprints has been successfully used by law enforcement for over a century. Technology is now finding many other applications, such as identity management and access control. In this context, we describe an automated fingerprint recognition system and the identification of key challenges along with research opportunities. The description is like a product design in this report implementing RTOS (Real time operating system) under the embedded system domain. Fingerprint recognition is a widely popular but complex pattern recognition problem. It is very difficult to design precise algorithms capable of extracting outstanding characteristics and combining them in a robust way. In this article, we have come up with a new approach to simplify existing problems with an appropriate embedded system design.
Applications:
"Fingerprint-based system management assistance" project can be used by employees, staff or workers in various industries such as automobile industries, manufacturing industries, software development companies.
Advantages :
1. Scientific research and studies have shown that fingerprints do not change as they grow.
2. The use of the fingerprint saves time to gain access compared to other methods like the RFID card or assistance written in the log book.
Future development:
1. We can send this data to a remote location using GSM modem or mobile or Internet
2. We can use the contactless sensor of the fingerprint. What is also called as a non-contact 3D fingerprint scanner.
