Objective:
To design and develop an economy of wheelchairs, fully automated, controlled by the human voice of people with disabilities.
Voice controlled wheelchair
The project aims to steer a wheelchair using the human voice. PIC16F877 microcontroller is the brain of the control circuit. Speech recognition is done by HM2007 speech recognition IC. Figure bellow shows a diagram of the control circuit.
Jobs
HM2007 speech recognition IC is able to act as speaker-independent voice recognition mode. In this mode, first, the sound is stored in an external SRAM connected to the chip using a microphone connected directly to an analog input terminal HM2007 to keep the selection of recording modes. Thus a maximum of 40 words 1.92sec. duration may be stored in memory. After training, speech recognition IC, as the above mode selection button is connected to the audio input mode. Here, speaking through a microphone to instantly compare the recorded sound, digital output and the second was born.
The speech is then sent to the IC to the digital input ports of the PIC microcontroller 16F877. Upon receipt of the signal microcontroller drives the motors via the control circuit. Control of speed and direction is done this way. Directional control is achieved by changing the direction of flow through the motor and speed control is achieved by varying the current through the motor.

Mechanism
Mobile differential mechanism is used to control the wheelchair. In this regard, two DC motors, brushless are used to control the two wheels of the chair independently. The coupling of the engine to the wheels are made either by direct coupling with couplers or timing belts (if space limitations it is proposed that this option is applicable). Coupled with the wheel rotates in the same regime as the engine. Therefore, geared brushless motor used in this case.
The movements in different directions are possible:
> Forward: Both engines clockwise
> Reverse: two motors in the opposite direction
> Left: collapsed left engine / right engine in the forward direction
> Right: right engine crashed / left motor forward
Inturn: The engines are in the opposite direction
