The Financial Corporation for Housing Development popularly known as HDFC Bank Limited is an Indian banking and financial company based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It has 84,325 employees and has a presence in Bahrain, Hong Kong and Dubai. HDFC Bank is India's largest private sector lender for its assets. It is the largest bank in India by market capitalization as of February 2016. It ranked 69th in 2016 BrandZ Top 100 most valuable global brands.
In 1994, HDFC Bank, based in Mumbai, India, was created. Its first corporate office and a full-service branch at Sandoz House, Worli was inaugurated by Union Finance Minister Manmohan Singh. As of June 30, 2017, the Bank's distribution network was at 4,727 branches and 12,220 ATMs in 2,666 cities.
HDFC Bank offers a number of products and services that includes wholesale banking, retail banking, treasury, auto loans, two Wheeler loans, personal loans, property loans and credit cards. The last entry in the league is 'Project AI', under which HDFC Bank, in the coming weeks, would deploy robots in select bank branches. These robots will offer options such as cash withdrawal or deposit, forex, fixed deposits and demat services that are displayed on the screen to people entering the branch.
