The transformer is a static device, which converts energy from one level to another level. The objective of the project is to protect the transformer under overload conditions by load sharing. Due to transformer overload, efficiency drops and windings overheat and burn. Thus, when the load is shared in the transformer, the transformer is protected. This will be done by connecting another transformer in parallel through a microcontroller. The microcontroller compares the load on the first transformer with a reference value. When the load exceeds the reference value, the second transformer will share the additional load. Therefore, the work of two transformers efficiently and damage is avoided. In this project three modules are used to control the load currents. The first module is a detection unit, which is used to detect the load current and the second module is a control unit. The last module is the microcontroller unit and will read the analog signal and perform some calculations and finally give the control signal to a relay. A GSM modem is also used to inform the control station about switching. The advantages of the project are transformer protection, uninterruptible power supply and protection against short circuits. When a low voltage supply system is designed for large supply load currents, parallel lower current modules are often preferred over a single large power converter for several reasons. These include the design and manufacturing efficiency of standard modular converters that can be combined into any number required to meet a given load requirement and improved reliability achieved through redundancy.

Transformer is a static device that converts energy to a voltage level to another voltage level. It is an inductively coupled electrically insulated device that changes the voltage level without frequency change. The transformer transfers the alternating voltage from one electrical circuit to another by the principle of mutual induction. Distribution transformers are one of the most important equipment in the power system and are also known as the heart of the power system. Reliable operation of a power system depends on the effective operation of the distribution transformer. Therefore, monitoring and control of key parameters such as voltage and current are required to evaluate the performance of the distribution transformer. Therefore, it helps prevent or reduce interruption due to sudden unexpected failure. Transformers being one of the most important equipment in the electrical power system, needs protection as part of the overall system protection approach. In addition, the growing population and its inevitable demands have led to an increasing demand for electrical energy. With this increase in requirements, existing systems have been overloaded. Overload at the end of the consumer appears on the transformer terminals, which can affect its efficiency and protection systems. Due to an overload in the transformer, the efficiency drops and the windings are heated and burnt. It takes a lot of time to repair and involves a lot of expenses. Transformers are occasionally charged beyond the ratings of the nameplate due to possible contingencies in transmission lines, any failure or failure in power systems or economic considerations. OR
