INCORPORATING WIRELESS POWER TRANSFER IN AN LED LIGHTING APPLICATION

INTRODUCTION

THE BEGINNING OF WPT
Electricity by today’s standards is considered an essential to life. Electricity has been the fuel for technological development since its first applications dating back to the late 16th century. This marvelous phenomenon, however, comes with a price. The cost of making electricity is harmful to the environment. The Energy Information Administration’s records show that nearly 50% of all electrical plants are high polluting coal plants. Major changes in the environment have occurred over the last 30 years that are detrimental to the future of this planet. If this path is left unchanged, scientists have predicted that certain parts of the world could be uninhabitable by 2050.

WORKING OF WIRELESS POWER TRANSMISSION
Wireless power transfer is a varied and complicated process. There is more than one system that works to complete the process. Three more scientifically sound ideas are space solar cells, lasers, and resonating electro-magnetic waves. While each process varies in the way the energy is collected and used, the mechanisms of converting from RF energy to DC energy and vise versa are the same for all WPT systems.

RECEIVING CIRCUIT:-

The receiving circuit consists of LED, 27pf of capacitor and 4.3H 32turns of 32 mm Ø are connected in parallel. When supply of 5volts 14.91 KHz from function generator is given to primary coil, then the microwaves generated from coil is linked with secondary coil. When both the coils comes to Resonance condition then power transmission take place

Voltage regulator (LM7805):-
The LM7805 is a VOLTAGE REGULATOR. It looks like a transistor but it is actually an integrated circuit with 3 legs turn it into a nice, smooth 5 volts DC.You need to feed it at least 8 volts and no more than 30 volts to do this. It can handle around .5 to .75 amps, but it gets hot. Use a heatsink.run off of 5 volts. It can take a higher, crappy DCvoltage and Use it to power circuits than need to use
