EM-18 RFID reader module is the most commonly used module for radio-frequency identification projects. It offers low cost, small size, low power consumption and easy to use. It can be directly connected to micro-controllers using UART communication. UART software can be used for micro-controllers that do not have UART modules. RFID work

The RFID reader module EM-18 generates and radiates RF signals of frequency 125KHz through its coils. When you insert a passive RFID tag of 125KHz (without battery) in this field, it will be energized with it. These RFID tags are usually made using a CMOS IC EM4102. It obtains enough power and master clock for its operations of the electromagnetic fields produced by RFID Reader.


By changing the modulation current through the coils, the label will return the information contained in the factory programmed memory array.
