Ad hoc Distance-to-Distance (AODV) Routing is a routing protocol for ad hoc mobile networks (MANET) and other wireless ad hoc networks. It was jointly developed in July 2003 at the Nokia Research Center, University of California, Santa Barbara and the University of Cincinnati by C. Perkins, E. Belding-Royer and S. Das. AODV is the routing protocol used in ZigBee, an ad hoc wireless network with low data rates and low data rates. There are several implementations of AODV such as MAD-HOC, Kernel-AODV, AODV-UU, AODV-UCSB and AODV-UIUC.
