A detailed study has been carried out on the characterization of domestic wastewater followed by the design of wastewater treatment. The present study involves the analysis of pH, total solids, total suspended solids, hardness, acidity, alkalinity chloride, chlorine, BOD, DO and heavy metals such as Iron, Copper, Zinc, Magnesium, Nickel, , Calcium, Aluminum, Silicon, Potassium. A wastewater treatment plant is much needed to receive domestic and commercial waste and eliminates materials that cause harm to the general public. Its aim is to produce a waste stream of environmentally safe fluids and solid wastes suitable for disposal or reuse. Average values of pH, chloride, acidity, turbidity, residual chlorine, alkalinity, DO, Total Solids, BOD, Hardness are known. A wastewater treatment plant has been designed with treatment units as a barrier of 1.7m, aeration tank of 4.5x4.5x3,7m3, collection well of diameter 4m and depth 5m. Samples of household waste from the shelter and the university have been collected at different times of the day to have an average of the data of the measured parameters. A wastewater treatment plant has been designed with treatment units, a bar screen of 4.5x4.5x3.7m dimension
