A science fair experiment is usually a competition where contestants present their science project, results in the form of a report, the display board, and / or models they have created. Science fairs allow students in elementary, middle and high schools to compete in science and / or technology activities. The main reason for a science fair is for students to respond to a question or task, not a textbook; they are discovered by conducting a series of experiments and ongoing research in the short time allotted to them . For questions or tasks to arouse a real interest in the student must be able to have an interesting, eye-catching project. Science fairs also provide a mechanism for students with an intense interest in science to be paired with mentors from nearby colleges and universities so they can access instruction and equipment that local schools can not provide.
