Orientation program
PURPOSE
The Orientation Program is designed to facilitate the academic, cultural and social adjustment of the first year students begin. The activities of the program are linked to the key strategic objectives of the University, namely improving the student's experience, developing excellence in learning and teaching, and encouraging the participation of students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

FE Orientation 2016

The College of Engineering and Management of Indira (ICEM) organizes a yearly "Orientation Program" for first year students. The aim of the program is to formally welcome newly arrived students to the Indira family and help them begin their academic journey in Indira. The Indira Engineering and Management College (ICEM) organized the "Guidance Program" for parents and first-year engineering students on August 8, 2016.

The program began with the national anthem. At the first session, Deputy Director Dr. Poornashankar informed the students about the Indira Group of Institutes. He introduced them to the pioneering members of the Indira Group of Institutes, namely the Honorable Chairperson Dr. Tarita Shankar and the respected Group Director, Prof. Chetan Wakalkar. He also informed them of the achievements of the institute and of the students.

Prof. Sunil Ingole, Director of the ICEM, delivered the welcome address. In his speech, he made students understand the value of life and the responsibilities of students. He emphasized the fact that students should start thinking for themselves that they will soak the sense of responsibility in them that will lead them towards a successful career. It also encouraged students to develop leadership qualities.

HOD First Year Dr. Vinayak Kale informed parents about Academics to be followed by students. After this, the question session with Parents was conducted by the principal. The first session concluded with a vote of appreciation proposed by Prof. Prerna Jain.

In the second session, the program began with the national anthem and then with a lamp lit by all the dignitaries of the ICEM. Prof. Sunil Ingole, Director of ICEM, gave the keynote address and wished them great success.

After that all the ICEM pioneers have given information to the students. In that, Dr. Parul Gupta introduced for the first time the structure of the FE course to the students. Students became aware of the curriculum, testing, term work, hands-on exams and general academic pattern to be followed during the first year of engineering. SPPU exam pattern was introduced by Professor Balagi Nelage. SPPU Theoretical examination and online examination was introduced by Professor Ramdas Biradar, Dr. Poornashankar, respectively. Mahesh Bhong encouraged all admitted students to study time management. A detailed list of rules and regulations on discipline and Etiquettes and other official formalities was taught to students by Prof. Suchi Gupta. The placement regarding the information was given to the students by Mr. Shashi Bhat. Prof. Manjusha Tatiya mam presented on the student's welfare committee and all cultural activities held at ICEM. Information on Library and Sports was given by Mr. Amol Raut and Mr. Atul Gore, respectively. Finally, the second session concluded with a vote of gratitude proposed by Prof. Prerna Jain.
