The heartbeat sensor provides a simple way to study heart function that can be measured based on the principle of the psychophysiological signal used as a stimulus for the virtual reality system. The amount of blood in the finger changes with respect to time.
The sensor shines with a light lobe (a very bright little LED) through the ear and measures the light that is transmitted to the light dependent resistor. The amplified signal is inverted and filtered in the Circuit. To calculate heart rate based on blood flow to the tip of the finger, a heart rate sensor is mounted with the help of LM358 OP-AMP to monitor heartbeat pulses.

• Indicates heartbeat by LED
• Provides a direct digital output signal for connection to a microcontroller
• Compact size
• Operates at + 5V DC working voltage
Main applications of the heartbeat sensor
• Works as a digital heart rate monitor
• Works as a Patient Health Monitoring System
• Used as Bio-Feedback control of robotic applications
