Abstract
TDMA, or Time Division Multiple Access is the one of the first cell phone digital standards available in the United States. It was the first successor to the original AMPS analog service that was popular throughout the country, and was in popular service from the early-mid 1990's up until roughly 2003 when the last of the TDMA carriers, Cingular and AT&T, switched to the GSM digital standard. Framing and Schedule Dissemination for Multi-hop TDMA-based Wireless Networks

TDMA-based protocols with a connection setup mechanism can be used to provide QoS guarantees in a network. Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are multi-hop in nature and supporting QoS intensive application on them requires multi-hop TDMA-based protocol. However, most designs of TDMA-based protocols are limited to single-hop based settings.

Abstract—We implement a new software-based multihop TDMA MAC protocol (Soft-TDMAC) with microsecond synchronization using a novel system interface for development of 802.11 overlay TDMA MAC protocols (SySI-MAC). SySI-MAC provides a kernel independent message-based interface for scheduling transmissions and sending and receiving 802.11 packets.
