Problem Statement

Traffic Congessions are a major problem in all the metropolitan cities. One of the main causes for these congessions is improper setup of wait times at the signals of major junctions. It is often observed that the traffic police change the timing of each of the signals randomly based on the traffic on each of the routes at the junction or even sometimes they switch to managing the traffic manually after switching off the signals completely.

There is a requirement to understand the traffic flows at all the major junctions ....etc

hi...can any one suggest me how to design an automated traffic control signal for four directions using Basic gates considering the density on 4 directions i.e, the time for which green or red lights occur is dependent on the density of traffic on that side. density is divided into three low,medium and high...so for four directions we get 81 possible cases....for eg: LLHH means the green light should be for 10,10,20,20 sec respectively.(everytime the cycle time being constant i.e,60 sec for each cycle) and so on.. ....etc

This simple traffic controller can be used to teach children rudiments of traffic rules. The circuit (shown in Fig. 1) uses readily available components. It mainly comprises rectifier diodes (1N4001), a 5V regulator 7805, two timers IC 555, two relays (5V, single-changeover), three 15W, 230V bulbs and some discrete components. Mains power is stepped down by transformer X1 to deliver a secondary output of 9V, 300 mA. The transformer output is rectified by a full-wave ....etc
