VORTEX GENERATORS
This topic provides basic working principle of a vortex generator suitable for automobiles. Vortex generator has a vital role in increasing the fuel economy and aerodynamic stability. This enables them reduce the drag force acting on it.
There are several methods for positioning the vortex generators over the vehicles. The key results of a simple experiment conducted on Toyota prius exemplifying the advantages of vortex generators discussed here.

CVCC is a trademark by the Honda Motor Company for a device used to reduce automotive emissions called Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion. This technology allowed Honda's cars to meet the 1970s US Emission requirements without a catalytic converter, and first appeared on the 1975 ED1 engine. It is a form of stratified charge engine.

ABSTRACT

Vortex refrigeration is a highly sophisticated system that contains a vortex tube which due to centrifugal force expels the internal energy of the air while the air at the centre core is made cooler. In this type of system the effectiveness is too low but considering its small size this can’t be ruled off. This is used as personal cooling system in suits that are designed to withstand heat.
