This project aims at building a DNS server which supports IPv6 name resolution. To achieve this,the server which has provision of complete support for both IPv4 and IPv6 in hosts and routers has been configured. The mechanism called the IPv6 over IPv4 is used(IPv6 over IPv4 is the method of encapsulation of IPv6 packets within IPv4 headers over IPv4 network). the latest version of bindconf tool is used for building the linux IPv6 DNS server with IPv6 name resolution . The TCP/IP protocol suite has a number of security loopholes of serious concern. Efforts are on by the IETF to address security issues in both IP and IPv6 protocols and to standardize the security mechanisms. The oversize packet is then sent to an unsuspecting system. Systems may crash, hang, or reboot when they receive such a maliciously crafted packet.
