Abstract

Here, students learn how solid state lighting technology can improve the lives of people in the developing world, making their evenings more productive and safer. In the laboratory, the students design a portable, solar-charged, LED lamp that can provide two hours of reading light. A Light emitting diodes (LEDs) have gained broad recognition as the ubiquitous little lights that tell us that our monitors are on, the phone is off the hook or the oven is hot semiconductor.

The basic principle behind the emission of light is that: When charge carrier pairs recombine in a semiconductor with an appropriate energy band-gap generates light. In a forward biased diode, little recombination occurs in the depletion layer. Most occurs in a few microns of either P- region or N ?region, depending on which one is lightly doped.

STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM



In India you must have seen many places where Street Lights will be ON whether its day time or night or worst is the case when it will be ON for 24 hours. This wastes lots off electricity and to save energy is one of the most important tasks nowadays where our resources are being finished.

This project consists of an RTC which is responsible for generating time. We will write the program such that depending on the time the light will be ON or OFF.

In place of RTC we can use LDR which will see the brightness ....etc
