Palm-vein detection is a biometric system which has mainly been devel-
oped in Japan and is already in commercial use, e.g. in nance and health
care. The pattern of veins in a human palm is a randotypical feature that
emerges during tissue growth and is therefore likely to be distinct even for
identical twins. At the same time, it oers a relatively large feature vector,
resulting in attractive error rates being possible.

Palm vein biometric


Palm vein technology is one of the upcoming methods of biometrics.. It is highly secure because it uses information contained within the body and is also highly accurate because the pattern of veins in the palm is complex and unique to each individual. Veins are internal in the body and it has a lot of differentiating features. So forgery is extremely difficult and thereby it produces a high level security .
