A practical method of modeling wind generator control systems for network simulation using Matlab-Simulink is presented. The interface developed between PSS/E and Matlab-Simulink allows the models generated to be used directly in PSS/E dynamic simulation. Fundamentally, modeling involves understanding the dynamics of equipments to be modeled and deriving the differential and algebraic equations which are coded using a high level computing language. For network elements resilient to change, the latter remains the method.

Abstract
This paper describes modelling and testing of a
digital distance relay for transmission line protection using
MATLAB/SIMULINK. SIMULINK’s Power System Blockset
(PSB) is used for detailed modelling of a power system
network and fault simulation. MATLAB is used to implement
programs of digital distance relaying algorithms and to serve
