Detecting Malicious Packet Losses
Abstract
Consider the problem of detecting whether a compromised router is maliciously manipulating its stream of packets. In particular, we are concerned with a simple yet effective attack in which a router selectively drops packets destined for some Victim. Unfortunately, it is quite challenging to attribute a missing packet to a malicious action because normal network congestion can produce the same effect. Modern networks routinely drop packets when the load temporarily exceeds their buffering capacities. ....etc

Efficient Multiplexing Scheme for IP Packets
over the Advanced Satellite Broadcasting System

Shuichi Aoki and Katsunori Aoki

Abstract — Implementing an IP-friendly transport
mechanism in broadcasting systems would enable more
convenient multimedia broadcasting applications. The
overhead of current multiplexing methods for IP packets that
are based on MPEG-2 systems is large, and they are not well
suited for efficient transmission of IP packets. We developed
an efficient scheme for transporting IP pac ....etc

The objective of this project is to simulate an overflowing ATM network and establish a router with congestion control based on the GCRA algorithm. The TCP/IP protocol suite is the standard requirement for all applications that need to communicate over the Internet. As TCP/IP applications are unable to specify the QoS parameters needed for most Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) services, we tend to use the GCRA Algorithm. ....etc

Re-ordering of packets using Retransmission Timer

Abstract

Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is the most popular transport layer protocol for the Internet. Due to various reasons, such as multipath routing, route fluttering, and retransmissions, packets belonging to the same flow may arrive out of order at a destination. Such packet reordering violates the design principles of some traffic control mechanisms in TCP and, thus, poses performance problems. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive and in-depth survey ....etc

ABSTRACT
Managing packets in distributed multimedia environment involves coordinating and synchronizing multiple datastreams. The Ensembles Coordination Program provides the required coordination, reduces delay using path selection and message rebroadcasting, and allows the end application to manage the synchronization within the streams.
One immediate advantage of this mechanism (ECP) is the reduction of data rebroadcasts, because nodes with more than one adjacent nodes must send the data and only to those adjacent nod ....etc
