Recent advances in Domain Name System (DNS) and the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) have enabled a new approach to supporting mobile users: location independent naming. In this approach, machines use the same hostname from any internet location, but use an IP address that corresponds to their current location. We describe a protocol that implements location independent naming for nomadic computers, i.e., machines that do not need transparent mobility. protocol allows hosts to move across security domains, uses existing protocols, and ....etc

DAP is actually a simple protocol that is used to access directory services. It is an open, vendor neutral information such as e-mail addresses and public keys for secure transmission of data. The information contained within an LDAP directory could be ASCII text files, JPEG photographs or sound files. One way to reduce the time taken to search for information is to replicate the directory information over different platforms so that the process of locating a specific data is streamlined and more resilient to failure of connections and computer ....etc

Abstract
We present an automated run-time optimisation framework that can improve the performance of distributed applications written using Java RMI whilst preserving its semantics. Java classes are modified at load-time in order to intercept RMI calls as they occur. RMI calls are not executed immediately, but are delayed for as long as possible.
