VHDL (VHSIC Hardware Description Language) is a language for describing hardware. Its requirement emerged during the VHSIC development program of the US Department of Defense. The department organized a work shop in 1981 to lay down the specifications of a language which could describe hardware at various levels of abstractions, could generate test signals and record responses, and could act as a medium of information exchange between the chip foundries and the CAD tool operators. However, due to military restrictions, it remained classified ti ....etc

HARDWARE IMPLEMENTATION AND ANALYSIS OF MD5

Abstract:- Hardware implementation aspects of the MD5 hash algorithm are discussed in this paper. A general architecture for MD5 is proposed and several implementations are presented. An extensive study of effects of pipelining on delay, area requirements and throughput is performed, and finally certain architectures are recommended and compared to other published MD5 designs. Hash algorithms are used widely in cryptographic protocols and Internet communication in general. Several widely used hash ....etc

Hardware Abstraction Layer - HAL

HAL is Microsoft's abbreviation for the Hardware Abstraction Layer, the technology and drivers that let the Windows NT, 2000, and XP operating systems communicate with your PC's hardware. HAL is one of several features--along with the NT file system (NTFS) that replaced the much less secure MS-DOS--that make NT-based operating systems more secure and reliable than Windows 95, 98, and Me.

HAL prevents applications from directly accessing your PC's system memory, C ....etc

Using a GPS to navigate, a guard locates a car theft and utilizes vehicle tracking that is, at present, widely employed. In this paper the terminal device using a microcontroller combines a GPS and a GSM/GPRS to make a portable and remote controlling device, and an embedded server is used as a transfer location server. In this way one accomplishes real-time vehicle trajectory monitoring. Clients can remotely monitor a vehiclepsilas position anywhere. Besides, as we have designed the remote monitoring using a virtual comport to combine the exist ....etc

INTRODUCTION
Division in finite fields is an important arithmetic
operation that is widely used in channel coding,
cryptography, error correction and code construction
applications. An algorithm that is suitable for hardware
implementation should require few clock cycles and
simple arithmetic operations. One such algorithm has been
proposed for modular division and its inverse in GF(p) is

JHDL (Java Hardware Description Language) is a low level hardware description language, focused primarily on building circuits via an Object Oriented approach that bundles collections of gates into Java objects. Implemented as a toolset and class library on top of the Java programming language, its primary use is for the design of FPGAs. Particular attention was paid to supporting the Xilinx series of chips.
When the design is ready to be placed in a fabric, the developer simply generates an EDIF netlist and imports it into his favorite toolki ....etc

Real-Time Positioning Technology Fleet management system is a rapid growing industry. This system helps institutions to manage vehicle fleet efficiently and effectively through smart allocation of resources. In this project, an intelligent fleet management system which incorporates the power of concurrent Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) real-time positioning, front-end intelligent and web-based management software is proposed. In contrast to systems which depend solely on GPS positioning, the pr ....etc

Acceleration hardware

Acceleration hardware refers to devices that speed up data communications, storage and retrieval, encryption and decryption, mathematical operations, graphics, and Web page viewing. Acceleration hardware can consist of an individual integrated circuit (also called an IC or chip), a printed circuit card, or a self-contained system.

A NAS accelerator is a printed circuit card that offloads TCP/IP processing from a microprocessor. This can reduce latency, increase throughput, ....etc
