Management of Available Power in Substation Transformers Based on Reliability
A method for estimating the maximum power obtainable from a distribution transformer is described in this article. This estimate is made on the basis of the estimated value of the future load, current temperature values measured at different points and also the factor of transformer reliability. Also developed is a system to provide means of controlling the transformer overload especially in the times of peak load.

A fuzzy logic based adaptive power system stabilizer (PSS) is presented in this paper. The parameters of the fuzzy logic based PSS are tuned by neural networks. The system is divided into two subsystems, a recursive least square identifier with a variable forgetting factor for the generator and a fuzzy logic based adaptive controller to damp oscillations.
