ABSTRACT

Information and communication technologies can have a key role in helping people with educational needs, considering both physical and cognitive disabilities. Replacing a keyboard or mouse, with eye-scanning cameras mounted on computers have become necessary tools for people without limbs or those affected with paralysis. The camera scans the image of the character, allowing users to Ëœtypeâ„¢ on a monitor as they look at the visual keyboard. INTRODUCTION

Virtual Keyboard is just another example of todayâ„¢s computer trend of Ëœsmaller and fasterâ„¢. Computing is now not limited to desktops and laptops, it has found its way into mobile devices like palm tops and even cell phones. But what has not changed for the last 50 or so odd years is the input device, the good old QWERTY keyboard and the virtual keyboard technology is latest development.

Definition
A virtual keyboard is actually a key-in device, roughly a size of a fountain pen, which uses highly advanced laser technology, to project a full sized keyboard on to a flat surface. Since the invention of computers they had undergone rapid miniaturization. Disks and components grew smaller in size, but only component remained same for decades -its keyboard. Since miniaturization of a traditional keyboard is very difficult we go for virtual keyboard. Here, a camera tracks the finger movements of the typist to get the correct keystrok ....etc
