While AC cable solutions can offer sufficient power ratings, the problems of load controllability and short circuit power increase with every added circuit. These problems may be countered with Voltage Source Converter (VSC) based technology using Cables for transmission, such as HVDC Light. This paper illustrates a study on HVDC Light for itsenhancement of AC/DC hybrid transmission system and multiinfeedHVDC system. In the sense of the realizing independentcontrolling of active and reactive power, HVDC Light is moreeffective compared to the conventional HVDC system.
