ACOUSTIC NOISE CANCELLATION USING ADAPTIVE FILTERING


Abstract
All the physical systems when they operate produce physical noise, which is a mixing of an infinitive number of sinusoidal harmonics with different frequencies. So, the initial signal information is corrupted with this noise. This complex signal, may be very noisy, so much that the human ear or other system which may follow it, cannot receive correct the initial signal.

When reference signal for the FxLMS algorithm is taken from an acoustic sensor convergence can be very slow due to great eigen value spread. Using a non acoustic sensor, Such as a tachometer, cancellation of narrow band noise in the sensed fundamental frequency and harmonically related ones can be achieved very fast, although other periodic noises and underline broad band noise will remain.

I have some knowhow on noise cancellation in the receiver of radar or other communication system. But I don't know how to implement using FPGA for better result.
Now aday some projects have been performed on this area.but I am not clear about the future scope and how I can improve the scopes stated. If an MTech project proposal has been posted in IEEE, I realy seek to know. ....etc
