MECHANICAL SYSTEMS OF CONCORDE
INTRODUCTION
After the World War II, Great Britain realized the necessity for faster civil planes and created the De Havilland D.H. 106 Comet, the first commercial plane with jet engines. During the 50's a committee was formed involving representatives from airlines, aircraft industries, engine industries and government employees to discuss an advanced design.
There were 3 possible innovative designs that could be followed.
The first was a plane with a very strange wing, -M sh..............etc

Modeling Mechanical Systems using Virtual Test Bed
Mechanical Modeling in VTB
VTB can be used to model mechanical systems. Equivalent electro-mechanical systemsâ€both linear and rotationalâ€can be described using VTBâ„¢s across and through variables.
Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Valve Train Modeling using VTB
A new camless engine is being design in conjunction with AARG, Siemens, and Honda.
A model was built to show valve train component position, velocity, and acceleration.

The Hy-Wire Car
Introduction
Cars are immensely complicated machines, but when you get down to it, they do an incredibly simple job. Most of the complex stuff in a car is dedicated to turning wheels, which grip the road to pull the car body and passengers along. The steering system tilts the wheels side to side to turn the car, and brake and acceleration systems control the speed of the wheels.
Given that the overall function of a car is so basic (it just needs to provide rotary motion to whe..............etc

MICROELECTROMECHANICAL SYSTEMS (MEMS)
ABSTRACT
Micromechatronic is the synergistic integration of microelectromechanical systems, electronic technologies and precision mechatronics with high added value.
This field is the study of small mechanical devices and systems .they range in size from a few microns to a few millimeters. This field is called by a wide variety of names in different parts of the world: micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS), micromechanics, Microsystems technology (MST), micro machines .this field ..............etc

Oil Drilling
Introduction
Oil and natural gas furnish about three-fourths of our energy needs, fueling our homes, work places, factories and transportation systems. Using variety of methods, on land and at sea, small crews of specialized workers search for geologic formations that are likely to contain oil and gas. Seismic prospecting - a technique based on measuring the time it takes sound waves to travel through underground formations and return to surface-has revolutionized oil and gas explora..............etc

Space Robotics
Introduction
Robot is a system with a mechanical body, using computer as its brain. Integrating the sensors and actuators built into the mechanical body, the motions are realised with the computer software to execute the desired task. Robots are more flexible in terms of ability to perform new tasks or to carry out complex sequence of motion than other categories of automated manufacturing equipment. Today there is lot of interest in this field and a separate branch of technology '..............etc

Automobile Air Conditioning
Introduction
Due to varying conditions of heating, ventilating, cooling and dehumidification in atmosphere at various places, the air conditioning of automobiles is very essential. To maintain human comfort and improve internal atmosphere in an enclosed space, proper control of freshness temperature, humidity and cleanliness of air required. In an automobile the air conditioning system involvs two main processes of heating and cooling. In the heating system, warm water..............etc

NANOTECHNOLOGY & MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
INTRODUCTION
We live in a world of machines. And the technical foundation for these machines lies in the steam engine developed during the 1780s by James Watt. The concept of deriving useful mechanical work from raw fuel such as wood, coal, oil, and now uranium was revolutionary. Watt also developed the slider-crank mechanism to convert reciprocating motion to rotary motion.
To improve on this first, basic engine, the people who followed Watt created the science of thermodynami..............etc
