Why fiber?
Speed- operates at high speed upto gigabits
Bandwidth- large carrying capacity
Resistance- to EM noise
Provide electrical isolation
Distance- Signals can be transmitted further without need of repeaters
Maintenance cost- less
Requirements of digital fiber link
No. of digital signal – 8
No. of fiber cable – 1
Signal frequency- 0-20KHz
I/p-O/p voltage level- 0 & 24 V for (0 & 1 digital logic)
Transmission Range- 300m
Here, we have selected HFBR-1521 transmitter and HFBR-2521 receiver..............etc

Advanced Fiber Optics
Introduction
Fibre optics is being used to transmit television, voice, and digital data signals by light waves over flexible hair like threads of glass and plastic. It has evolved into a system of great importance and use since the 1980’s.
The advantages of fibre optics compared to coaxial cable or twisted pair cable, are endless. Millions of dollars are being spent to put light wave communication systems into operation, as a result of its performance.

SEMINAR REPORT ON FIBER OPTICS BASED COMPUTER NETWORK
INTRODUCTION

In recent years it has become apparent that fiber-optics are steadily replacing copper wire as an appropriate means of communication signal transmission. They span the long distances between local phone systems as well as providing the backbone for many network systems. Other system users include cable television services, university campuses, office buildings, industrial plants, and electric utility companies.

This article presents a fiber-optics-based sensing network for fault detection in power systems. This scheme is considered secure and immune from interferences. A passive rugged fiber-Bragg-grating-based sensors are present a each of the monitoring locations. magnetostrictive transducers are used in the place of CT or PT for the purpose of converting the magnetically induced currents into optical signals. The temperature drift in these sensors can be easily compensated for. An increased fault current at a certain location causes a surge in th..............etc

RF to Fiber Optics We turn the RF into Optics. Then using an AWGN signal to create noise we can insert 2 signals (1 small and 1 large). We can then subtract the large signal with the noise going on to see how much cancellation we can get using an oscilloscope and Spectrum Analyzer. ..............etc

Atop each of the Trump towers in New York City, there's a new type of wireless transmitter and receiver that can send and receive data at rates of more than one gigabit per second -- fast enough to stream 90 minutes of video from one tower to the next, more than one mile apart, in less than six seconds. By comparison, the same video sent over a DSL or cable Internet connection would take almost an hour to download.

This system is dubbed 'WiFiber' by its creator, GigaBeam, a Virginia-based telecommunications startup. Although the technolo..............etc
