ABSTRACT
Mobile computing has changed the very definition of communication by the phenomenally improvised technology. Gone are the days when the quotation was “The sky is the limit.” Today, using the powerful tool of mobile computing, our communication has not stopped with this tiny globe. Today, our communications have extended to other planets as well. It can be seen that communication is mobilized everywhere. The mobile revolution has ruled almost every field making the future merely predictable and even possible. It can rather be quoted “if it can be reduced to small data packets it can be delivered through a mobile phone”. Mobile communication is thus ubiquitous.
In this paper we present the design, purpose and various applications of the “TINY MOBILE”. Precisely, this simple, flexible and portable mobile serves a wide range of applications - as an extended range remote control, to control a home automation system and so on. The code is dense still there is enough space for adding new features or to modify the behaviour to suit our personal taste. The whole process is accomplished by means of SMS (Short Text Message Services). This mobile makes profitable use of all the features of its components. The software implements low-power techniques, which extend battery life to more than a year of continued use using AA cells. Two cell phones “slave” and “master” phones are required one at the place of operation or requirement and the other “master” can be used to operate from anywhere in the world. The controller encodes the SMS received and the appropriate action is performed.
This mobile requires a circuit as every mobile does but with some added features and is yet to be designed. Now, the future aim would be a MULTI-PURPOSE INTELLIGENT MOBILE.
