DLW Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) is a production unit under the Ministry of Railways. This was set up in collaboration with American Locomotive Company (ALCO), USA. UU In 1961 and the first locomotive was launched in 1964. This unit produces electronic diesel locomotives and DG games for Indian Railways and other customers in India and abroad. Subsequently, a contract was signed for the transfer of technology of locomotives controlled by microprocessor AC / AC of 4000 HP (GT 46 MAC) and passengers (GT 46 PAC) and the family of engines 710 with the electro motive division of GENERL MOTORS of USA for its manufacture in DLW. The production of these locomotives has already started and, therefore, DLW is the only manufacturer of diesel electric locomotives with ALCO and General Motors technologies in the world.
