Solar-Powered Refrigeration System
Solar-powered refrigerators are most commonly used in the developing world to help mitigate poverty and climate change. The perishable goods such as meat and dairy are kept cool by harnessing the solar energy. imple components can be used to construct the refrigerator.This is very much useful in the areas where the electricity is unreliable or unavailable. Either batteries (electric refrigerators) or phase-change material is added to provide constant refrigeration.
How It Works
A typical solar refrigeration system contains a PV panel, vapor compressor, thermal storage and reservoir, and electronic controls. the conversion of
sunlight into DC electrical power is the process that makes the refrigeration possible. The compressor is driven by the DC power to circulate the refrigerant through a vapor compression refrigeration loop . This loop is responsible for extracting the heat from the insulated enclosure. thermal
reservoir and a phase change material is included in this enclosure. Also, an ice pack is created in the enclosure which maintains the temperature low even in the absence of sunlight.
