ABSTRACT
A simple process to construct 3D rapid prototyping (RP) physical models for computer tomography (CT) medical images segmentation is presented by this article. The conversion of CT images to an RP model is made simpler by the use of stereolithography (STL) triangular meshes as a basis for RP construction. The STL triangular meshes are constructed directly from the data points without first converting them to curve model in the beginning. a 3D
physical model of the medical image is easily constructed once this is done.
INTRODUCTION
Rapid Prototyping
It is the general reference to the broad range of techniques that produce shaped parts by gradual creation or addition of solid material. This techniques is entirely different from the forming and material removal manufacturing techniques. In the modern sense, this refers to the three-dimensional models manufactured without the need for machining.
Stereolithography
The STL creates parts by microlaser-curing the successive layers of liquid resin. The liquid photocurable resins are selectively solidified using light by this aparatus.
