Two major factors limiting performance in multi-hop wireless networks are co-channel interference and the unreliability of wireless transmissions. Multi-channel multi-radio technology and opportunistic routing (OR) have demonstrated their promise to significantly improve network capacity by combating these two boundaries. It raises an interesting problem about the balance between multiplexing and spatial diversity when integrating these two techniques for performance optimization. It is unknown what could be the capacity of the network when the nodes have multiple radios and an OR capacity.
